Holiday Splendor: Tree #6

Detroit Zoological Society Tree
Detroit Zoological Society: Kathy Bell, Joan Bognar, Chelsea Bucknarish, Linda Denomme, Kathy Franco, Mary George, Jasmin Gunn, Mary Anna Lake, Karla McIsaac, Melissa Pletcher & Nancy Przybylski

The inspiration for our tree came from the Detroit Zoo’s Polk Penguin Conservation Center, the largest and most spectacular facility for penguins in the world. More than 80 penguins of four different species can be observed exploring their habitat - which includes a 25-foot-deep aquatic area - from viewing galleries both above and below the water. We celebrate these magnificent creatures with whimsical penguins made by our volunteers and staff using natural materials such as pine cones, wool, cotton, paperboard and felt. We hope you enjoy the display.
