Location: The Birthday Garden
Dawn was sculpted by Mario Korbel in 1924. Behind this sculpture, you can see the original stairway to the north terrace.
A pair of tall marble columns carved with Byzantine designs flank the gate across the walk below Dawn. Beyond the gate, the Travertine lions at the ends of the balustrade are copies of ones found on the tomb of Pope Clement XIII in St. Peter’s Basilica.
