The Oak Room

Added on in 1919, the Oak Room is named for its oak paneling, which was hand-carved in a linen fold under the direction of woodcarver, John Kirchmayer. Cartouches surround the perimeter of the uppermost portion of the walls commemorating important Booth and Cranbrook-related events. The tiles surrounding the fireplace on the south wall were made at Moravian Pottery and Tile Works under the direction of Dr. Henry Mercer. An elaborate Tudor Rose ceiling completes the room.
