Welcome to Cranbrook House and Gardens, the oldest manor home in metro-Detroit
and the centerpiece of the Cranbrook Educational Community campus, a National
Historic Landmark.
Formerly the estate of Cranbrook founders, newspaper mogul
George Gough Booth and his wife, Ellen Scripps Booth, the manor was designed in
the Arts & Crafts Style by noted Detroit architect Albert Kahn in 1908.
This tour begins with an introduction to the founding family and
a brief history of Cranbrook, after which it will guide you through the gardens
around the house.
